My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER??? Well, Wallace might be! In just a few weeks, Wallace learned to sit, shake, roll over, lay down, high 5, and come when called. He rings a bell to go outside to potty or can us a doggy door. Not bad for a dog from the "wrong side of the tracks". Pulled out of a rural pound on his last day, Wallace is full of the joy of life and knows that he has a second chance for a great life. Wallace is a great running buddy and can run several miles without getting tired. We think his Rhodesian Ridgeback heritage might be kicking in, even though there are no lions to chase here in Texas. He LOVES other dogs, large and small, and loves kids as well, and was temporarily fostered by a family with triplet 5 year old girls. He avoids cats, and must have heard about the claws, because he ignores cats like they are not even there. Sounds perfect? Well he is for an active family with time to stimulate his body AND mind. He loves toys and fetch but needs a human that will continue to channel his intelligence and energy to positive activities.
Like to travel? Wallace is a great travel companion. He loves to ride in the car and is not so big, at 40-45 pounds, to take up too much space from the luggage or camping equipment. He meets new people easily and charms them with his smile and happy demeanor. He is crate trained and is a pretty quiet guy, not a barker. Wallace would love to be part of a family that is active and has time to play and make him a part of their daily routine. While he is active, he also loves to cuddle and chill with his "peeps" at the end of the day. If you think you can keep up with this smart young guy, mentally and physically, make an application for him at www.saverescue.org. Wallace is brushing up on his chess moves while he waits.
