Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FOSTER LOCATION: Caldwell, ID
Sweet Pepper was found as a stray very obviously having given birth to some pups at some time in the past month. She was shy and a bit shut down in the shelter so she came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue so her milk could dry up and then get spayed while living in a home. Pepper is one of those dogs who is such a mixed breed it is hard to say what she is without a DNA test; best guess would be a Corgi (no tail and body structure) mixed with a Glen Imall Terrier or something of the sort – whatever the heck she is she is certainly adorable! She is approximately 3 years old.
Pepper is a shy, but loving dog; she’s much better than she was when she first came to foster care but can still be timid at times but now she snaps out of it quickly. Once she is comfortable with you she is quite the cuddler and loves to lie in your lap and snuggle with you. She does best in a low stress, low chaos home; so we would love to see a couple adopt her that are home quite a bit and who can make Pepper the center of their world. While she is good with kids she gets extremely stressed and her timidity comes out if they are loud and active so we would like no kids younger than 12.
This girl is great with dogs who are around her size or smaller; large dogs seem to freak her out and she gets nervous. Another calm, stable dog in the household would help Pepper continue to learn to be comfortable in the world. We have never seen her around cat but our best guess is that she would chase them.
Pepper is not a high energy dog but she loves to play in the yard and would need at least 1 good walk a day. She is a chewer when left at home alone and she gets bored; she should be kenneled when you are gone (and working with a trainer will help this). When you are home she is bomb proof in the house with no bad habits and is trustworthy enough she sleeps in bed with one of the kids in her foster home. She is fully house trained with no accidents ever.
She really is a gem and a great companion to someone who can give her a lot of time and attention. Bottom line...she is a lover and seeks stability and love from a family that has the time to give her.
Pepper is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
