Here's what the humans have to say about me:
There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter. Jane, at only 13 weeks old and 12 lbs (is estimated to be full grown at about 35 lbs), was facing the end of her life before it ever began. Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this brand new puppy...they lovingly rescued the adorable and snuggly Jane.
Jane is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing and perfect vetting resulted in a transport ticket for Jane to Colorado and a brand new life. Farfel's is so excited to welcome Jane into our rescue program.
Sweet Jane is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's so smart.. and very entertaining and comical. This is very typical of the Spaniel breeds. Jane is bright and so loving and engaging...clearly having no memory of her scary start. Since Bella is just a baby, she's a blank slate just waiting for kind and patient humans to show her the way. Jane has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion - she will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Socialization Class followed by positive reinforcement group Obedience Class. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with appropriate behavior.
We'll be very excited if Jane finds her forever home with an active retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. Jane loves children of all ages but we would prefer to place her in a home with older dog-crazy kids that can participate in a gentle yet consistent training regimen.
The sweet and cuddly Jane will be up to date on all of her vetting. She has just been spayed and received all puppy shots that are appropriate for her age. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Jane's microchip and any further vaccinations that are necessary if one of our Colorado rescue vets is used.
Jane is an adorable and very loving combination of Spaniel breeds. These breeds have cotton-soft coats with the cutest markings ever. They do require a commitment to periodic baths and thorough brushing...along with great nutrition and a salmon oil supplement to keep their coats healthy and shining.
Jane will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 2/26/16. If interested in this very sweet, loving and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
