Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We are seeking sponsors for Pearl to help us pay for her vet expenses. Recently Pearl has developed a form of skin cancer which requires minor surgeries as new cancers arise. She also requires a special veterinary diet for allergy issues. If there is an adopter who is willing to continue her treatment, we would consider adopting her out.
Pearl is a youthful 12 year old female Dalmatian and Staffordshire Terrier mix. She is lightly spotted with striking black ears. She is fully housebroken, obedient and well-behaved, with a “spring in her step” attitude. She requires no training, and knows how to use a “doggy door”. While she is content running around the back yard, chasing her two foster brothers, and playing fetch or tug-of-war with the rope, she loves to go for walks as well.
Pearl is an extremely affectionate and loving girl, as can been seen from the photos provided by her foster family. She is in very good health, spayed, micro chipped, and current on all her vaccinations. An easier adoption couldn’t be found!
By way of background, Pearl was originally placed as a 1 year old by Save The Dals in 2008. However, a change in her family’s home dynamic resulted in her family asking us to find her a new safe and loving home. Pearl was surrendered when her family’s other dominant and very elderly female dog became aggressive, and the family felt Pearl had a better chance of re-homing (as opposed to the 13 year old mate). Pearl’s family was devastated by this decision and it is Save the Dal’s quest to find Pearl her forever fit. She would do well in a home with other male dogs or as a solo dog. She is also good with cats.
Pearl’s foster family indicate that she is terrific with all people from the very elderly to the young adult; and they believe she will live a long and full life well into her teens.
If you live in or near Southern California and would like to be considered as an adopter (we place our dogs in So Cal or nearby areas only, we do not ship dogs), please complete our online application form at http://www.savethedals.org/form_adopt.htm . Sometimes we have trouble with our server, so be sure to save the application before you hit “submit” (or copy and paste it into a word doc and save it before hitting submit). The adoption fee for Pearl is $275.
This dog’s biography was written by Pearl’s foster family.
((Pearl was adopted at age 1. Returned to rescue at age 10. Fostered for 4 years by Risa Robitaille. Died February 9th, 2019.
