My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bear was rescued from a hoarding situation with some other Schnauzer mixes. We think he is a Schnauzer/Cattle dog mix and about 5 years old. He is slow to warm with people, but is not nippy with people at all. He will walk on a leash and will give kisses. We are looking for volunteers to help rehab him and the others at the Adoption Center in St John, or for a foster home for him. Our FHTA Trainer or a Rescue Team member will work with the foster home to help build confidence and trust in humans. He has probably spent very little time outside of a crate, however we can coax him out easier than the others.
Alsip To The Rescue (ATTR) strives as a rescue to make sure that when our adopters take home their new rescue they feel they have the support and access to all resources which ATTR can provide. If you want to learn how you can set your new rescue up to succeed and blend in with your family come to our Meet The Trainer sessions each weekend. We will give you tips on what to do when you first bring home a new rescue. Saturday at Noon in St John and Sunday at Noon in Frankfort are free Meet The Trainer sessions with more free sessions to be added during the week soon. Fill out an application in the Get Involved section to meet our rescues. www.alsiptotherescue.org
