Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This handsome man is Bert. Bert is a senior terrier mix who is looking for a new place to hang his hat. Bert was surrendered to a shelter and being an older guy he was not getting any interest at the shelter. We were his last hope to make it out. But we were the lucky ones to get to meet this great boy.
Bert is a very sweet boy who likes to be near his people. You will always find him very near. At night he loves to sleep right next to you. Bert is very quiet and whines a little when he is trying to tell you he needs to go out. Bert has very limited vision due to cataracts, but he finds his way just fine. He just needs a home with minimal stairs. Usually with blind or almost blind dogs we want them to have a fenced yard so they stay safe. But Bert doesn’t like to wander more than a few feet away from you. He will do his business and then want to you lead him back in or pick him up. When he is confident enough to walk around is when he is on a leash. He finds comfort and safety in having you at the other end of that leash.
Bert is a low maintenance dog. He is happy napping when you are away and then following you around when you are home. He doesn’t mind being picked up but he isn’t clingy and doesn’t want to be held for long periods. Bert is a gentle soul who is looking for a caring soul to give him a forever home. Senior dogs are wonderful companions and you truly know the reward of rescue.
Bert is housetrained and crate trained, but he doesn’t really need to be crated as long as he gets out about every 6 hours. Bert is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, heartworm negative and microchipped. He also recently had his teeth cleaned.
