My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This pet WILL NOT be shown before our Showing Event, please do not inquire if the animal can be shown before Saturday, phone calls WILL NOT be returned on this animal. See information below for the date, location, time and adoption procedure.

Kambie is about 5-6 years old.

SERIOUS, UNDERSTANDING, COMPASSIONATE ADOPTERS ONLY
PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE TO ADOPT HER JUST BECAUSE SHE IS SMALL AND CUTE.
PLEASE READ KAMBIE’S STORY BELOW.

Imagine if you were a puppy or dog being left in a room with little to no human contact. Never being let out to feel the grass beneath your feet, nor being able to smell clean fresh air, listen to the birds sing or see the sights and sounds of a normal world outside of concrete walls.
Never getting a scratch behind the ears, no belly rubs, no pats on the head, no hugs, no human telling them they were a good doggy. Then as the years (yes, years) go by you still get none of this.
Well, that was the life for Kambie. She lived in the basement at the home of a hoarder. They were breeding these Pekingese/Cocker Spaniel (Cockinese Hybrid) dogs. Dozens of them.
UNTIL they were given to a shelter and then rescued by Take My Paw Rescue.

Kambie started out in foster care huddled in a corner, very frightened. When her foster mom would approach her, she would either cower in freight or run and hide with her face in a corner. Her foster mom committed time and patience with her. Slowly, she began to trust her. Letting her touch her head without running away frightened, letting her rub her belly.
Kambie has come a long way since she was rescued but still has a ways to go. She has started leash training and learning that humans are not bad. She is not house trained. She will need someone with time and patience and the understanding of what she has gone through and what she will need in the future. She has learned to play a little with the foster mom.
All we ask as a rescue is to remember where she came from, how far she has come in a short amount of time and how much farther she can go.
She will need a fenced in yard as she does not know what boundaries are and is still in the process of trusting humans.
If you are the sort of person with the commitment to help Kambie become the wonderful dog we all know is in there then please come and meet her.

The adoption fee is $ 150.00

This pet plans to be shown Saturday November 7, 2015 at:
Tractor Supply Company
4601 E Grand River
Howell, Mi
Time 11AM to 3PM

On Saturday, you will be asked to fill out a pre-adoption form at the showing event. All pre-adoption forms are reviewed just after 11 and a home is chosen from all pre-adoption forms at the event. If you plan to come to the showing you should plan to be there just before 11 or right at 11 to fill out a pre-adoption form. If you are chosen you will complete the adoption Saturday and take the animal home. If you rent, proof you are allowed to have an animal is required. Sometimes we have more than one family interested in the same animal, the foster has to choose one family for the animal. We cannot guarantee you will be chosen.
We do not have a shelter, all our animals are in foster homes.
