My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mario is an Australian Kelpie/Bulldog-mix, male, 4 years of age.

Amiable, affectionate, sensitive, tranquil, happy-to-be-around, and sometimes a little shy, Mario is above all else, a very trusting, loyally devoted canine who genuinely loves people. Sociable, sincere, and steadfast, this handsome boy craves companionship, and he’ll want to be included in family activities. Calm and laid-back indoors, animated and lively outdoors, Mario needs regular physical exercise and mental challenges to stay happy and healthy. Having access to a fenced yard where he can run, play, and explore with family members and on his own would be perfect for him too.

Mostly serious-minded, sometimes light-hearted-silly, Mario is always good-natured, polite, and very well-mannered. Although he may come off as aloof when meeting new people, he’s really just a thoughtful guy who will quickly reveal his warm-hearted, friendly disposition if just given a respectful second. Utterly devoted and affectionate with people he knows and trusts, this self-possessed, noble canine has a strong desire to please, and he lives to fulfill his role of faithful companion.

Intelligent with an exceptionally high learning ability; Mario’s’ completed Training and Socialization classes at Dundee K-9 where he was a stellar student who exceled in obedience. Mario loves being challenged and given an opportunity to learn new things, so he’ll benefit from and really enjoy additional training and socialization classes – this will be an excellent way to bond with him as well as to reinforce good canine manners too.

Best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a moderately-active lifestyle, Mario is a total package canine looking for a responsible, caring owner willing to provide the leadership and companionship he needs and craves. Although not particularly interactive with other dogs, we think he’ll get along well with a compatible, similar-sized dog he has been properly introduced to, particularly one of the opposite-sex. Comfortable with children of all ages, Mario’s a really great dog who will make an outstanding pet for just about any family where children and pets alike are taught to respect boundaries and interaction is monitored as it should be.
