Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ted is a one-year-old, male Teddy Bear Hamster looking for a loving guardian.
Ted was given up to rescue by a woman who no longer had time for her beloved pet. He had been given a lot of socializing earlier in life so he is as docile as a hamster could be.
Teddy Bear hamsters are actually the largest variety of hamster; they are Syrian hamsters with long hair and the males have the longest fluffiest hair! You can even brush it.
The main diet of hamsters is pellets, supplemented with small amounts of fresh foods. The average lifespan of a Teddy Bear Hamster is two to three years, but on rare occasion, they can live up to five years! He is accustomed to living a solitary life as an only hamster but enjoys human contact. He enjoys clean bedding, fresh water and nutritious food.
Ted enjoys toys, tunnels and his treadmill wheel for exercise and entertainment. It’s important not to keep his home in a location that is in direct sunlight or where he’ll catch a draft.
To meet and possibly adopt Ted, please contact me directly at sheri@petraits.com or 773-777-2891. His adoption fee of $20 benefits rescued pets. If you need a complete set-up for your new hamster including a habitat, food, water bottle and exercise wheel, hidey hut, etc. have a variety of hamster homes and accessories to choose from!
