Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tank is the handsome son of a red heeler purebred female and a Rottweiler mix male. He was born on 11/14/14, and at 55 pounds, he still has a little growing to do.
He is good with other dogs (though sometimes he plays a little too roughly and they correct him, which he takes easily and adjusts his play to a more appropriate level... at least temporarily). He does chase cats, but might do fine with a dog-savvy cat that didn't run. He is good with children (though big enough and goofy enough to knock toddlers over now and then), and his worst habits are jumping up for attention and face-licking. He is a super affectionate boy, though has a little fear of strangers and a stronger fear of stick-like objects (took him a while to get over the broom and the camera tripod).
Tank does his best to not urinate in his shelter kennel, and most days the kennel is clean (other than muddy footprints, which seem to multiply on their own even on dry days). He sheds quite a bit, but enjoys being brushed gently, so a few minutes a day is all it should take to keep the fur in the brush and trash, instead of all over the house. He does have a bit of a chewing habit, which we handle at the shelter by giving him chew-appropriate objects like stuffed Kongs, Nylabones, marrow bones, and by supervising him when he is loose around the shelter. He is easily corrected, just say "uh uh!" as soon as he starts chewing on furniture or another inappropriate thing, and then give him an appropriate chew object.
Tank thinks he is a lap dog, and is not a dog that would do well left outside on his own. He wants to be an integrated part of the family and is ready to give you his whole heart! It will take him a few days to adjust to a new home and new people, but once he does, he will stick to your side whenever you allow him to do so. The only thing that will make him hesitate to follow you anywhere is a car ride - he isn't a big fan of cars, though you could help him start to view them with happy anticipation if you give him treats in the car, then take him on just very short rides that end with something awesome, and gradually increase the length of the rides and the awesomeness of the destinations. He's not even a year old yet, so you have plenty of time to turn him into a fantastic and enthusiastic passenger.
Tank comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period.
Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $95; more gratefully accepted!)
Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your payment to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
