Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nelda is a little 9 pound Westie mix we think... She looks like a Westie, or mix. Or maybe she is a Westie-Chihuahua mix... She is a senior girl with special needs. She hears very little and her eyesight is going, too. Despite that, she has spunk and needs a place to love her and care for her for the rest of her life. Nelda sleeps quietly in her crate at night, and when it is time to go out for potty in the morning, she will let you know. During the day, if she needs to go out, she will circle at the door. She is really a dear little dog that deserves a loving home!!!
Nelda was a pitiful dirty mass of matted hair when we got her from animal control. However, with a few snips of the scissor, some shampoo and a blow dry, Nelda turned into quite the little looker! At first, Nelda only wanted to lay outside and lay on the patio next to the house. Now she wants to come inside and sleep on her soft fleecy bed. She is becoming a princess!
Nelda apparently has had a hard life. Besides being badly matted and dirty, she had bad, bad, bad teeth plus heartworms when we got her. It was obvious that she had not received much care from her former owners. Nelda had dental surgery at Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic where they removed about 18 teeth. Nelda is now eating well, feels better and has an overall better quality of life. Having that much tooth decay and gum infection was painful as well as unhealthy for this tiny dog.
After her dental work was completed, Nellie underwent heartworm treatment at Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic, too. She is now on the road to recovery and enjoying her life. She is eating well now, and showing some spunk. We can tell that she feels much better.
Nelda has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and has been treated for heartworms. Her adoption fee is $100.00.
If you are interested in adopting this cutie, please write us at PricelessPets4u@gmail.com and ask for an application to adopt. We are a foster-home based organization, and the adoption process starts when you submit your application. Once that has been approved, we can schedule a time for you to meet her.
