Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
HI! It's me, BOBBI!!! I'm a ~ 1 year old 20# Shiba Inu/Boston Terrier and I'm a super bundle of energy.... No really, this little body packs quite the punch. I love to go on runs/walks. I do have quite the prey drive when it comes to squirrels and birds and cats grin emoticon . I have gotten along with other dogs and would probably LOVE a home with a canine friend! I love playing fetch and enjoy being groomed. I'm a bit of a houdini dog and will run if I get the chance, so having me on leash at all times is a huge recommendation! I can be a bit jumpy but I'm just. so. EXCITABLE!!!! Feel free to come and meet me!
Unlike our cats, our dogs do not stay at the shelter full time. They are kept in foster homes, but come in on Saturdays from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Arrangements can be made to have specific dogs brought in during the week- just give us a call or email to set up a meeting time.
Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $125.00 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $160.00 + tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs.
You also have the option to microchip your new dog/puppy for only $20. Brookings city pet licenses are also available for purchase for those living in Brookings, SD.
Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
