Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name: Ollie
Breed: Pyrenees/Spaniel cross
Age: Young Adult
Gender: Male
Ollie is a soft-coated, soft-hearted love bug dog! He has a soft spot for the kids and other dogs and loves to be out and about making new friends and soaking up the petting and love. Ollie is housetrained, crates nicely, good with other dogs and cats, and knows how to mind his manners so well for such a young dog. He is excellent on the leash and loves to go for walks. His only flaw is a lack of socialization when he was young led to his initial reactions to other dogs when he is uncomfortable is a growl, never more and he responds well to correction but he does best with slow introductions to new dogs and would do best in a home with another dog (preferably female) to help show him the ropes as he follows along with their cues and is far more comfortable with another canine around. He is a 65 lb, around 1-2 year old Pyrenees/Spaniel mix (best guess) who was surrendered with his sister for being too interested in the chickens on the farm (meaning a home with birds is probably a no-go for him!). He would do best with a fenced yard or someone committed to using a leash/tie-out when outside otherwise he is likely to take his own adventure. If you are looking for a big, happy love of a dog, Ollie would be an excellent companion!
Requirements: Fenced yard (invisible is fine for him as long as properly trained).
This HHK9 canine has tested positive for a heartworm or tick borne disease and treatment will be done through our vet before an adoption is finalized, so that we can do our part to ensure a healthy happy dog joins your home. Heartworm treatment consists of a 2 day treatment at the vet followed by 4 weeks of restricted activity, and placement timing is on an individual case by case at the comfort level of the foster and adopter. Tick diseases are treated through oral antibiotics sent home with an adopter by the rescue.
You can email laurahhk9@gmail.com with questions and for a preadopt application. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated as age appropriate, tested for heartworm disease if age appropriate, and dewormed.
