Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Whitney was rescued from a high kill shelter after her human was arrested one too many times and lost custody of her. She has the most incredible ears and evokes comparisons to an Ewok, Muppet, Yoda and a Dr. Seuss character. She is a major cutie and does an adorable "squirmy wormy" dance when her foster family returns home. She was incredibly fearful but has come so far, accepting what it means to be loved and treasured. She gets along well with the dog and cats in her foster family but she can be food and toy possessive, which isn’t unusual given her past. Whitney loves snuggling up with her human at bedtime but is also content to sleep in her doggy bed through the night. She is crate trained but would enjoy accompanying you to work. She is sweet, loving, quick to form bonds and walks perfectly on a leash. Although she doesn't require a lot of exercise, she’s happy to hike a few miles. Whitney takes care of potty trips outdoors quickly, she has a no nonsense approach and doesn’t waste a lot of time sniffing around. She knows to use a wee-wee pad indoors. Whitney would do well in a home as the only pet or with another small dog, or with cats (she is intimidated by larger dogs but even that could be worked out given the right temperament mix). She would do best in a household with human adults. She is small enough to fit in a TSA approved cabin carrier. Could she be any more perfect?
As with all of The REAL Bark's dogs, Whitney’s adoption fee includes vaccinations, microchip, spay, temperament testing, first bag of food and, as a bonus, a family portrait by a talented pet photographer. We love when our adopters keep us posted, send us pictures, and become a part of The REAL Bark family. You have a team backing you who loves this dog and we consider ourselves blessed to have been the first (but not final) step in her future. Thank you for being interested in adding a rescue dog to your family.
If you are interested in adopting Whitney, please fill out our adoption application and visit her at our next mobile adoption event. We hope to meet you soon!
