Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name: Mya
Breed: German Shepherd mix
Age: Young Adult
Gender: Female
Mya is a beautiful German Shepherd mix who embodies everything about the breed that makes those of us who love them think they are just about the best dogs out there. She is loyal, energetic, loving, sweet, incredibly smart, loves to learn, and has a cute stubborn mischief streak that makes us laugh. Mya is housetrained, crates for the workday well, minds her manners in the house, and loves to go for walks and play. She knows many tricks and commands and adores all people instantly. Her biggest hurdle that a new home needs to be aware of is that like many shepherds she over-bonds to her home and when they leave it shows in some mild separation anxiety so she would do best in a home with another large, playful dog or someone who is home more often than not. She does show this overbonding as well on the leash when other dogs pass and puts on a good show of being threatening. She is actually quite friendly with other dogs and loves to play but needs some work on meeting them on the leash so would do best in a home who has the patience to train and the experience or willingness to learn how to work with leash reactivity. Mya is excellent with the dogs she lives with in her foster home and those she has been properly introduced to. She does fine with cats and loves kids as well. She would do best in an active home with a fenced in yard or a commitment to using a tie-out/leash outside since she thinks squirrels are the absolute most fun to chase.
Requirements: Experience with the breed, large space outside for her to exercise
