Here's what the humans have to say about me:
YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO SET UP A TIME TO MEET OUR PETS.
We first met Margo as a super cute, very lonely little 6 month old puppy who was given to a family who planned to keep this precious, sociable girl on a chain in the yard. We were frankly horrified and quickly intervened and convinced the family to let us have her and find her a wonderful home.
Margo was the most adorable puppy, so friendly and cuddly with a beautiful spirit. All she wanted was to be with people who loved her as much as possible!
She was quickly adopted by a nice family last July. She completed an obedience course and grew into a sweet tempered, snuggly adult. She is now about 14 months old. She knows all kinds of commands including sit, stay, lay down, drop it and give me five!
Unfortunately, possibly because of her early rough start, she never really got comfortable with the family’s young children. She also turned out to be a more energetic and playful dog than they had bargained for so she is back with us so that we can find her the perfect forever home.
Margo adores people and is very friendly. She bonds super quickly and highly values being close to her family and friends. Because of this, she is a bit of a Velcro dog and might feel less anxious if she had a companion dog in her new home.
She loves other dogs and does appreciate having a doggie friend so we are hoping for this in her new home. She will also be happiest in either an adults only home or a home with adults and older kids who act more like adults.
Margo is an active dog and so she will really appreciate regular long walks and fun play time in a fenced yard. With plenty of exercise to make her happy, she will certainly be more able to relax when you need to leave her alone for a while.
She dislikes a crate and is still getting used to riding in the car, though getting much better about the car.
She can be uncertain around new things so would really flourish under the guidance of an experienced owner who will let Margo know that she does not need to worry about stuff since the people will take care of any concerns for her (scary stuff like bicycles, etc.).
She is very submissive and only wants to have the confidence that you will take care of important things so that she can just enjoy her life and not worry. She does very well with loving structure, just like any young dog or child, and can feel anxious without it.
She was housetrained in her recent home but will need to acclimate to your new routine until she understands what you expect.
We adore precious Margo and are so happy to see what a wonderful adult she has become. She will love you with the utmost devotion and we only want her family to give her the same.
Please apply if you are an experienced, adults only home or a home with well mannered older children, if you enjoy an active dog and lifestyle, and especially if you have a current playmate for Margo so she will not feel as lonely when you must be away. She loves rooming with a fun little dog here at the kennel!
Because of her early days of having to defend food from roaming dogs when she was a puppy, she is still a bit protective of her food and toys and needs further training so that she can relax. No worries, she is easy to train.
Charming Margo is 14 months old and about 37 pounds. She was just groomed and given her summer haircut for these photos but you can see her shaggier look in her video. She is happy with either look and always gorgeous.
Margo would like a home without cats, please. She loves dogs but tends to bark at cats.
