Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Darla would love to have a family of her own. Right now she is sharing a foster home with four other dogs and she is great with them, but she craves attention from her people. She is one of those dogs that leans against whoever is petting her. She is an extremely friendly one year, 52 lb. black mouth cur/bloodhound mix. Darla is completely housetrained and crate trained. Darla loves to play with other dogs, but would do fine in a home without other dogs. She is a counter surfer, so leaving food out and turning your back on it while Darla is around is not the best idea. We are working on this and will take consistent training to curb this behavior. Her favorite treat is a kong filled with peanut butter that has been frozen. She is very good with commands such as sit, stay, down, come, and shake. She even knows how to shake with both paws. She loves to play fetch outside but MUST have a yard with a 6 foot plus privacy fence that surrounds the entire yard. Darla does calm down when in the house, but will need plenty of exercise in her fenced yard. She can entertain herself by throwing a ball in the air and chasing it, but would prefer if her human(s) threw the ball for her. Because of Darla's size, young age, and activity level, she would do best in a home with no kids under the age of 8. She has seen caged cats and didn't care about them at all, but it may be a different story if one races across the living room. She is spayed and microchipped and up to date on all shots. To meet Darla, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. Her adoption fee is $200.
