Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This litter of puppies, Kaipo, Kimo, Kanani, Kauai and Kalua, were pulled from a kill shelter along with their mom when they were about 3 weeks old. They are the sweetest, most social dogs! They love to play and are just happy-go-lucky little guys! Mom is a Papillon/Sheltie mix and we believe dad was a Shih Tzu. They are about 9 weeks old now and weigh in at about 3 pounds!
Kalua is our special needs little guy out of the bunch...he has "megaesophagus" which means that the muscles in his esophagus do not propel the food downward like they should. We noticed this several weeks ago and got a confirmed diagnosis. The trick with mega is to find out what they can eat - what stays down best for each individual dog. The good thing is - it seems as though Kalua does great with just dry dog food! This is a condition that can go away over time or he may have it forever. Kalua is growing and gaining weight and seems to be doing just fine! If you'd like to know more about Kalua or megaesophagus let us know!
They are all currently in foster care in West TN and will be transported once an adoption is finalized. If you'd like to add one of these awesome puppies to your family, please visit our website at www.goofyfootrescue.org and fill out an online application or download one and email it back to us
