Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**PREFERENCE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WITHIN A 90 MILE RANGE OF HIGH POINT, NC**
Rosie is a stunningly beautiful, happy puppy who is energetic and loves to run. Her long nosed profile (picture 3) and scruffy fur reminds us of an elegant Irish Wolfhound and she is going to be a big, long legged girl. She is an adorable breed unique to herself! She is growing the most charming silvery beard on her lovely face and her scruffy fur is only mildly wiry and actually has a wavy, soft texture over her body.
She is only 8 months old and is very ready to delight her forever family. She has a wonderfully loving, confident (but not overly so), playful, silly personality.
Rosie is SUPER trainable, even though she is still a gangly, bouncy puppy. She won the “Best Puppy” award when she went to puppy classes at Southern Tails as a tiny pup in November. She sits on command, goes down when you ask, will drop her toys easily for you when offered a little treat in exchange, and she does not seem to be possessive about her stuff.
Rosie makes fabulous eye contact and wants to please people. When given a command, she will watch your eyes carefully for the next instructions, preferring eye contact over staring at the treat she is about to receive. Someone who loves to teach a smart dog all kinds of new tricks will really enjoy Rosie!
She adores attention from anyone and makes new people friends as soon as she meets them. She is irresistibly cheerful and welcoming and will dive right in for snuggles, kisses and tummy rubs. She is a trusting kind of gal and would probably be great with older kids though we have not tested her with them yet.
She will be medium to large sized when grown (currently 45 pounds so will probably be 60 pounds full grown) and will really appreciate an active family since she has lots of puppy energy. She will be happiest with a fenced yard to zoom around in.
Rosie is full of energy because of her age, but she is not a hyper dog. We predict she will be an amazingly well mannered adult if her new home continues to teach this willing girl.
She was housed with other dogs at the Randolph County shelter and did fine. We will test her in our play yards here very soon.
She was adopted as a small puppy by a family but they were told she was a Cocker Spaniel mix, which she obviously is not, and so they left her at a county shelter when she started getting too big for their tastes. As a puppy, she was well cared for until she got too big, and so she has the sweet nature and confidence of a puppy who had a good start in life.
Wonderful Rosie sure did not deserve to get dumped at a county shelter and she is very excited at the prospect of finding a great new family who is looking for a lovely medium to large sized puppy with energy to romp and play. Her scruffy, smiling face is totally irresistible! Come meet her today!
