Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Marley is a very sensitive, sweet, yet nervous, seven-year-old, 63-pound, female Pit Bull Terrier/Beagle-Mix looking for a loving guardian.
Marley was rescued as an eight-month-old puppy when her human was a sophomore in college. She was skin and bones, and very skittish at the time. She was then raised with two Pomeranians and a Yorkie, so she is good with other dogs of all shapes and sizes after initial introduction. She has also lived with cats in the past.
She is a smart dog, but very nervous and sensitive at first so she needs time to warm up. So she is looking for a very patient human to take her under their wing. Marley has been trained to stay off furniture except her own dog bed. She knows the command sit and down, and is protective of her home and family. She is perfectly housebroken and crate-trained.
Sadly, her human recently married and his wife is allergic to Marley so she needs to find a new loving home.
When you first meet Marley, she will probably bark, but she is not aggressive, just fearful. Marley is very healthy, de-wormed, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, and heartworm-tested. She did have knee surgery a few years ago and sometimes struggles with stairs. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting her, please contact Linda at lindagarard@gmail.com or Ted at tedgarard@gmail.com or 847-975-7054. Her adoption fee of $100 benefits rescued pets. She is currently living in Northfield, Illinois.
