My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Colt, but I'm called Brownie. I'm a little over a year old. People make all kinds of guesses as to what I'm mixed with... I've heard Staffordshire Terrier, Pittie, Basset Hound, Boxer... you name it! We're not sure what's in my DNA, but I am a sweet boy with a long body and shorter legs with big feet. I love to play with the dogs in my foster home and my foster parents too. I love to go for walks, chew bones, play fetch and snuggle on the couch. I am quiet in my crate and sleep in there all night. I am crate trained and house trained. My foster mom is even working on letting me out of my crate when they aren’t home and I’ve done great for up to 4 hours so far! I am a bit shy and timid with people at first but I have come a long way with trusting people. I love other dogs and gain confidence and learn how to play from watching them. So, my foster mom is only considering applicants with a canine playmate for me. I prance and hop while I play. I don’t mind sharing a home with cats either! If you have kids, a home with children older than 10 who can show a little patience and gentleness with me while I settle in would be best. You can come meet me at upcoming meet and greets, but where you really get to see my playful personality in after I'm comfortable with my foster siblings at home. Arrange to meet me if you think I'm the right guy for your family.
