Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID
Meet Charlie a female Akita/Shar Pei mix who is just 3 years old and is now homeless for the 2nd time in her life that we know of. Through no fault of her own Charlie-Girl is in need of a true forever home; someone who will make her a part of her family and love her until the end of her days.
This girl is super sweet and has a gentle personality. She loves her people deeply and like to be with them in whatever they are doing. Charlie is one affectionate girl and likes to lay by your side, spend time with you and would love to share the bed at night if you will let her (if not a bed of her own close by is nice). She loves people; though no kids under 10 please.
Charlie is also one smart cookie she is house trained, knows sit, down, shake, high five, she’s in learning stay and is kennel trained. Put in a little time with her and have some treats handy and the sky is the limit with her. Be warned she can be a little jumpy when she is excited. Charlie will chew on things once in a while when she is bored so she is being kenneled while no one is home. She is not a digger or a barker (unless barking in answer to other dogs). She walks pretty well on a leash and will need at least 1 good walk a day; she’s not high energy but a walked dog is a happy dog.
She does ok with other larger dogs; not great with little tiny dogs. Honestly she likes to play so she does better with dogs that are about her size or larger that she can play with. She has never been around cats to our knowledge but we’d guess probably no cats.
As with many of her breed she has sensitive ears and skin which can turn red and itchy in spots; it’s no big deal though they can be treated topically (we will send along her meds). Other than that she is a healthy, happy girl!
Charlie has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
