Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Petey is a very friendly, sweet, playful and lovable three-year-old, 64-pound, male, black and white Boxer/American Bulldog-mix with warm brown eyes looking for a loving guardian.
Petey is great with people of all ages – including small children. He’s relaxed and not at all hyper or jumpy. He’s wonderful in the home and leans against you lovingly. He is a homebody who loves being with his people. He loves a fenced-in yard, enjoys playing with his toys and is perfectly housebroken.
Petey is extremely responsive to his people. He is well-trained and knows the commands sit and stay. His favorite treats are bananas and apples; his foster family likes to keep him healthy and he is very food-motivated.
Currently being fostered in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood, Petey is just not a city guy. He is reactive on leash and nervous in the city. He’d rather have a yard of his own to run and play in and a more suburban neighborhood without all the noise and congestion. So he is looking for a home that definitely has a secure fenced-in yard.
He is currently living in a foster home with another large dog. He is best with male dogs – especially labs and bully breeds who don’t mind his rough manner of play. Petey has a strong prey drive so he’s best in a home without cats, rabbits or other small pets.
Petey is very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, heartworm-tested and micro-chipped. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Animal Care and Control.
To meet and possibly adopt Petey, please contact Kat at kat@fcacc.org or if you have questions for his current foster mom, please contact Ania at pniewska.ania@gmail.com or 312-730-6687.
