My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Even though his birth certificate says he's nine years old, he certainly doesn't act like it! Samwise is a perfect mix of relaxed and silly. He LOVES to give kisses. At times he downright acts like a puppy, while at other times he can't resist relaxing on a good, comfy couch. When he hits the couch, he doesn't like to be disturbed!

Samwise enjoys strutting his stuff on walks and simply adores car rides because that means he gets to be with his human – his most favorite thing in the world! While Samwise likes children and other dogs, he likes his humans more and would prefer a forever home where he's the only dog.

Samwise is a vocal dog who lets you know when something is on his mind. He is starting to discover the joy of playing with toys, but he's still learning exactly how to play properly with them. He loves to engage you in a game of keep away and will expect you to chase him if he has something he thinks is a treasure! He does tend to guard his toys, but is learning to trade for a treat. His forever family should be committed to obedience training, because he would benefit from a refresher on proper doggie behavior and manners.

Samwise is house broken and takes one medication to control seizures which are no problem at all as long as he continues on his medication. He does not need someone at home all day, although he'd love that scenario, but does need at least one midday check-in. As far as living situations go, Samwise would do just fine just about anywhere – an apartment, a home, city, country, etc.
