My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy...especially belly-up just waiting for the petting of a lifetime! They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuer in saving Sammi...she could see that her temperament was so kind and puppy-sweet that she couldn't allow her to be euthanized. Sammi is the kind of very endearing girl that will lie in your arms and give a periodic loving kiss... she couldn't be more loving. Sammi was immediately brought to be vetted and then to a great Houston foster home to receive pure love and begin her education. It turns out that Sammi, at only about 12 weeks old and 7 lbs is expected to be approximately 18 - 25 lbs when full-grown.
The following is Sammi's foster mom's report on this sweet girl--- I just wanted to share with you how incredible Sammii is doing! She is a small girl, but has the biggest heart ever - sweet as can be! she is already doing very well with her housebreaking! Sammi is so engaging and not the least bit afraid of my big dogs. She has a bunch of positive and fun energy so we are hoping his furever family has some kids or a playful pup for Sammii to enjoy. From the moment we got home she was very friendly and took over like she has always lived here. She has already mastered walking on a leash. Her furever family is incredibly lucky! They are getting an awesome little girl. She also gives great hugs and her hair/fur is just beautiful.
Because of Sammi being the greatest puppy ever, we're loving the foster experience. Are they all this easy?
Sammi is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around her...She's incredibly entertaining when she gets going. If she continues this regiment of socialization that promotes positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...Sammi will become the most well-adjusted and pleasant adult companion...leaving the challenge of her early weeks behind.
Sammi is a gorgeous Schnauzer mix puppy...although we can't see anything but Schnauzer at this young age, we think there might be some dachshund in there... with puppy hair that has the potential (with great nutrition) to be a stunning coat that speaks of his Schnauzer lineage. Her endearing demeanor makes her all the more adorable...She loves fun and is a world-class snuggler.
If Sammi is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, she will become a well-adjusted dog who respects her people as her leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for Sammi. We also feel it's very important that she is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. Sammi would be overjoyed with walking along Colorado paths enjoying the sunshine. We'd like a family who spends lots of time at home or chooses to include a fuzzy companion when they're out and about. Sammi can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany her family just about anywhere.
