Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Brooke, affectionately known as Brookie, is as sweet as they come. Unfortunately, her life before being rescued was probably a nightmare. When she came to us she was hesitant with her every move. She most likely lived her entire life outdoors, was abused, and was used as a puppy maker. The first week we had to physically carry her over the threshold every time she was taken in and outside. It was weeks before she ventured outside of her "safety zone" of the kitchen and living room. Through this time she was and still is nothing but sweet, shy, and submissive. She was most comfortable outside and really came to life when she got to play with our other dogs.
Our Brookie has started to blossom into an incredible pup. Although still timid and shy, Brooke wears her heart on her sleeve. While her prior life has most definitely affected her, it has not affected her sweet heart. She loves everyone- dogs, cats, humans. She plays and kisses and cuddles. All she wants in life are humans to trust/love and a dog sibling(or more!) to play with and show her the ropes.
Brooke is crate trained and likes having a "safe spot" but would prefer to not be in one for long periods of time. She was not house-trained when she came to us but has made great strides over the past few months and does well when kept on a schedule. Brooke has stolen this foster mom's heart and deserves to go to a very special home.
Brooke is a Boston terrier mix, about 3 years old and 44 lb. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines , heartworm negative and microchipped. To learn more about Brooke, call her foster mom, Abby, at 706-951-7685. To adopt Brooke, visit bostonrescueofsc.com and fill out the adoption application. Brooke's adoption fee is $175.
