My story

If this happy grin looks familiar to you, you're absolutely right. Professor is back with us at the shelter for another try at a forever family.

Professor was just adopted a couple months ago, and his family absolutely loved him.... especially their young daughter. But there was one family member who wasn't so thrilled: the 6 year old Dachshund. Although Professor tried his best to make friends, the Dachshund wasn't having it and kept starting fights.

Worried for his safety because of the drastic size difference between Professor and the Dachshund, his family made the decision to return Professor.

Professor is a 10 month old Akita mix. He's a big boy at about 70 pounds, and he still has some growing to do! He's great with other dogs, cats and kids. He is also housebroken and knows a couple basic commands.

You can meet Professor at the Adoption Center Monday through Saturday 1pm to 7pm. He is already neutered, heartworm tested, fully vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated and microchipped, so he's ready to join a new family.
