Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Maddie is a 2 year old Black Lab/English Pointer mix. Maddie is a sweet girl that loves attention. She was never given the opportunity to experience life beyond the four walls of her previous home. Maddie was kept in a house with limited activity and mental stimulation. Before coming to her current foster home, Maddie was never taught the right and wrongs of the doggie world. Now she is learning how to behave well in a home and be part of a family. She is good with kids, but should be supervised as she is a large dog and is still learning respect of space. Maddie has a great deal of energy. She loves to be outside and explore the world around her. Maddie is the type of dog that gets excited just to wake up everyday and anticipates what new things she will encounter with you by her side. This beautiful girl also loves to swim! She is a fast learner and very “treat” motivated, which is making her basic command training a breeze. Maddie would do best in a very active home with someone who is prepared to involve her in their day to day activities. Her forever home should be experienced in dog behavior or with someone who is willing to expand their knowledge in dog training. She has potential to do great things such as dock diving, frisbee, agility, or hunting! Maddie has a pleasing mentality. She is happy when you are happy. Maddie is at her best after a day of fun activities that keep her mind and body in shape. She is a goof ball, and will keep a smile on your face. Maddie truly deserves a second chance. Give her the opportunity to show you how special she is.
Maddie is not aggressive to other dogs, but does play a bit rough so she would be best in a single dog home. She does have a high prey drive thus does not do well with cats or other uncaged small animals.
