Jerome is a male Poodle/Havanese mix only 8 months old. He is a nice, bigger size currently weighing in at 20 pounds. He may gain another 3-6 pounds before he is full-grown. Jerome has gorgeous, soft creamy curls that are non-shedding. He is a dream to touch and hold. Jerome is a wonderful snuggle bug and will cuddle, curled in your lap just like a smaller dog. He is definitely more on the mellow side, quiet and well-behaved for such a young dog. If nothing is going on, Jerome can usually be found hanging out in his doggie bed playing with his toys and watching the world go by. Jerome does like to play and is good with other dogs. He seems to really enjoy the company of another dog in the household. Jerome is great at being mellow and hanging out with the family, poking around in the backyard while you garden, read or have a picnic. When he is done bopping around, he will flop at your feet for an easy snooze. Jerome is wonderful with children and will seek them out for snuggling or gentle playtime. He is housebroken and excellent inside the home. Jerome walks very nicely on leash and rides easily in the car. His favorite position is in the seat next to you, acting as your trusty co-pilot. He is good in public, greeting people and other dogs appropriately with no barking or other issues. In fact, during his vet visits he would snooze on the floor while waiting for the doctor. Jerome will likely bond closely with his family and be a very loyal pet. He was rescued from a very high-volume/high-kill shelter where he was brought in with a broken hip. We took him to our orthopedic surgeon and had his hip surgically repaired. Jerome is expected to make a full recovery and have normal use of his leg. He is young, healthy and well worth it - he deserves a second chance! Jerome is looking for his new forever home today.
Jerome’s adoption donation is $450 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). He has been NEUTERED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is his collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of his records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.
Jerome is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteers, Mary, Jerry and Holly and is ready for his forever home.
