My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tiny Toothless Louie is the saddest looking of this group- poor guy had to have all of his teeth pulled because they were so rotted, and has a crooked bottom jaw and his tongue hangs out. He is emaciated, and missing most of his hair due to color dilution alopecia, a genetic condition common in blue/fawn colored doxies. It doesn't require any treatment other than a coat to keep him warm in the winter and protection from sunburn in the summer. He is eating great and hopefully will put on weight now that his mouth is healing. Despite his neglect he is a sweet little guy, always wagging his tail and loves attention and other dogs, only about 6lbs right now but should be 8-10 once he fills out. We are hoping someone will find him as adorable as we do and give him the loving him he deserves.

3/7/14- We are getting 9 more little senior doxies from the horrible hoarding situation today! Over 100 dogs were found living in filth including 40+ purebred doxies, mostly seniors. We took in 10 last month and all but wire-hairs Harry and Hannah have been adopted, so we were able to offer to help with even more! These special little guys and gals have survived unimaginable horror but remain sweet and love attention, and get along great with other dogs especially other doxies! Please email us if you would like to foster or adopt one of them... we also have several other purebred doxies rescued from local shelters/surrenders including a few younger ones. Any doxie lover is sure to find one or two to fall in love with!

We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). To help us better match a pet to your household, we request you fill out an application on our homepage www.secondchance.petfinder.com and copy and paste it into an email, or print it and bring it to our adoption day when you come. Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.
