Ihna is approxmately 10 months old and weighs about 40 lbs. She won't grow much bigger. Ihna is spayed, current on shots, and is microchipped.
Once she is comfortable with you, Ihna is extremely happy-go-lucky and always ready for a romp. With her teddy bear face and perpetual grin, this girl is still very much a puppy.
Ihna sometimes takes a few minutes to warm up to new people and she is somewhat intimidated by men, but she is very quick to bond and will soon become your velcro dog. She amuses herself while I am working on the computer and eventually settles down on her own. But one look from me or a call of her name and she will drop everything to come to me for a good petting. And when I go from room to room, she is right there beside me.
Ihna is extremely playful and will not be content to sit around the house all day. She is not hyper but does have puppy energy and will need regular exercise. She loves to destroy chew toys, play fetch, and is very ball-obsessed.
Ihna is great with other dogs. She is good-natured towards them and submissive, though her energy level may be annoying to some dogs. She loves to play with our 3 other dogs (2 bigger and 1 smaller) and would do well in a home with another playful dog, especially a more dominant dog who can show her the ropes.
Ihna should go to a home where all members are willing to take on a leadership role. Because of her relatively young age, boundaries and consistent discipline need to be enforced, so that she understands what types of behavior are proper. She is very receptive to correction, eager to please and is not stubborn at all.
Ihna will quickly recognize a leader and will willingly and happily follow once she understands what you want from her. She is the type of dog that would excel in training. She is very agile and would also be great as an agility dog.
Ihna is largely motivated by praise and attention from those that she has come to trust and look up to. Ihna knows "sit", "shake," "down" and "stay." We have introduced her to the Gentle Leader successfully. She is also learning to heel on leash. She is cratetrained and housetrained though she may need a refresher course in a new environment. Ihna sleeps in a crate beside our bed at night and is crated when nobody is home.
We recommend Ihna go to a home without children under 13 because her exuberance can sometimes be too much for a small child. Ihna has not been tested around cats.
Ihna is a very lovable dog who will quickly win you over with her lolling tongue and happy nature. She will soon become your most loyal and constant companion. Ihna is very affectionate and would love to be your lap dog. She does need a family who recognizes the importance of discipline and boundaries, and the more of a leader you become to her, the more eager to please and devoted she will be. Ihna is very ready to give you her heart, and it won't be long until you will have realized she has already stolen yours.
