My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

TEENY.
Teeny is an adorable one year old pup that looks like a miniature jaguar with more expressive ears. Her slim, muscular body is coated with short dense fur that is black and shiny as onyx. When she is excited, her forehead wrinkles tautly, and her ears stand high. When she's relaxed, they lay back softly against her head. Most times, they are like helicopter blades, twirling somewhere between.

She's funny, kind, and playful. She will tease my pup by taking his toy, playfully. When he gives her the eye, she'll give him a lick. She'll toss it in the air and they'll race to see who gets it first. She is very concerned that her rawhide chewies will be taken. She'll hide them any way possible, then patrol the area carefully to make sure there are no enemy bone snatchers lurking nearby.

Teeny has very nice manners. She goes to the back door to let you know she has to go to the bathroom. When you ask her to wait, while you exit a door, she listens attentively. She already knows the command to sit. But in one day, she is learning to lie down (for a treat, that is). Teeny ls a smart, happy girl and very affectionate too.

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.

All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give her a happy, carefree life that she deserves? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
