Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATE - Chevy was adopted by a family who loved her dearly, but their cat hated Chevy. Even though Chevy was good to the cat, the cat would attack and scratch her - Chevy never reacted or hurt the cat in any way. The family tried hard to keep them separated, but then realized it was not fair to either Chevy or the cat so brought her back to the Shelter. They were able to tell us that Chevy is housetrained, will go to the door when she needs to go out. She was also pretty much a couch potato, when left alone she would just sleep. She was great on car rides, leash walks and even running with the teenagers. Even though they were unable to keep her, we are grateful for the love they gave Chevy and for sharing so many good traits with us. Seems to us that Chevy would make a great companion for anyone. How about you?
AVAILABLE 10-24-13 When her owner no longer had time for her, Chevy was brought to the Animal Shelter with hopes to find someone who does. Chevy is two years old. She seems to be a mix of Pharaoh Hound with her large stand up ears and some American Pit Bull Terrier with her blue brindle coloring. Chevy is spayed, her shots are now up to date and she tested negative for heart worms. She is good with kids and other dogs (currently shares a kennel run with another dog and is doing fine). She enjoys car rides, leash walks, playing fetch and with her toys. She has been to adoption events and is friendly to everyone including kids. All she wants to do is be petted and give kisses. Chevy has been described as a curious, playful, lap loving social butterfly. If you've been looking for a dog with these "qualities", please come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City and meet Chevy Girl.
