Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Her name is Autumn and her coat color will remind you of Autumn leaves. Autumn is a sweetheart and she is looking for someone to cuddle and talk long walks with.
Autumn is active, but certainly not hyper; she settles down readily with the family. She loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home, and would love a doggie brother or sister. Romping around the yard with doggie friends is one of her favorite things to do! Human kids are great as far as she is concerned, but not the younger ones; they overwhelm her.
Autumn is perfectly house trained. And, she doesn't mind her crate at all--in fact she goes there when you ask her to, and sleeps there at night. She will even go there to relax if things are hectic.
Autumn was relinquished by an owner who kept her outside in a kennel. She was underweight and pretty scared. It is a true testament to her resilient nature that she has come to be so loving with her foster family. She does need help getting to used to lots of other people and situations. New situations scare her because she did not get a lot of exposure to the world in her kennel. She also needs some additional leash training, as her previous family didn't teach her how to well well on a lead.
Autumn loves her chew toys and bones, but because she is still learning what is hers to play with, and what is off limits, she does need to be crated when people aren't around to watch her. This is pretty typical of a young dog, so she will probably learn that quickly. Those herding breeds are super smart after all!
Autumn is a sweet beauty and overall, an amazing dog. She is ready to settle down with a family who can help her be her best--could that be you?
This dog’s adoption fee is $225. Adopters must live within 150 miles or 3 hours drive of the Quad City area.
