Kevin is a sweet, shy, snuggly, loving and playful, three-year-old, 15-pound, male, King Charles Cavalier Spaniel/Shih Tzu-mix looking for a loving guardian. Kevin was dropped off at Chicago Animal Control as a stray with a broken pelvis. He has healed in the loving care of his foster mom. Although his original family was never located, his micro-chip data indicates his birthday was December 6, 2010. He is very loving with those that he adores and he lets you pick him up and hold him like a baby. He has soft cuddly fur which makes him all the more fun to snuggle with. He also loves all other dogs (not cats), and adores playing with toys and balls. Because he had a serious injury and he’s a little on the shy side at first, he’s best in a home with adults and teenagers, not small children. He also exhibits some guarding behavior. He loves going on walks and is good in the car. He knows how to sit on command and takes treats gently from your fingers. Kevin is non-destructive in the home, mostly housebroken and wears a diaper when he sleeps at night just in case he leaks. He is looking for someone who is home more often than not, as he might not be able to hold it for a full eight hours. Kevin is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, de-wormed, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative.
