My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arrival story: Elwood arrived as a stray and his people could not be located.
Approximate age / weight: Approx 5 years old and 30lbs.

Personality: Elwood is a pretty laid back little dude. He loves getting attention from and being near people. He does like to explore outdoors and may wander off if left to his own devices but inside he mostly likes to snuggle. Elwood is good with and tolerates other dogs but he isn"€™t interested in playing with them or with toys. He truly prefers the company of humans to just about any other activity.

Elwood has good house manners, is house-trained and does enjoy hopping on the couch for a nap. He isn’t fond of being crated. He is good at the vet’s office and enjoys riding in the car.

Forever home: Elwood is looking for a best friend or two he really wants to be with humans, so a family where someone is home a lot would suit him perfectly.

Contact: Please contact wtdr2008@yahoo.com if you are interested in adopting Elwood!

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
