My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet MEL. He and his littermates were born in rescue care. Their mother was a stray on the streets. MEL was the runt of the group needing revived when born. He was not breathing and some efforts on the foster mom's part saved his life. His right front elbow was dislocated either during birth or during the efforts of his cpr. either way the poor little guy has had to have 3 surgerys now. the vet is full of hope that we can save his leg. we will keep trying and if it comes to loosing the leg he is young and will adapt very well. we will continue to care for the leg even if adopted. The foster mom just wants him to be with his forever family and know he is loved and they can nurse him back to healthy condition. that bonding will be very important to MEL's recovering .
Mel is doing very well on potty training. Even though he has been limited on how much he can walk, he will bark and bark to go outside to potty. he loves playing but is limited on that too. he will have a lot to catch up on when he is fully recovered. this little guy deserves the very best a home has to offer. that is going to be a very special family indeed.
MEL is up to date with vaccines, neutered,on heartworm treatment and flea and tick prevention, microchipped and has had his bordatella.
if interested in this adorable little guy go to -WWW.RESCUEAHART.ORG and submit an adoption application and someone will contact you.
