Rescue FAQs

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The goal of Patriots for Pets Rescue and Shelter is to help displaced animals find a new forever home. We additionally work with disabled U.S. Veterans to supply a companion animal at no charge.
We serve the Northern Iowa area as well as the Southern Minnesota area.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application

  2. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
    1. We do visits with pets by appointment once application is tentatively approved. If you have a dog we do require that the dog come to visit.
  3. Sign Adoption Contract

Additional adoption info

We do not charge an application fee. We do charge an adoption fee if you have applied for an animal and that application is approved. The adoption fee is payable when you pick-up your new forever pet.

The main thing we require is Love. You must be able to love the pet you are adopting, you must be able to provide the pet with a home to keep them safe and comfortable.
